Elle est Professeure de Cinéma, à l’Université de Howard (Washington, USA) depuis 2008. Elle a passé sa thèse en Etudes Cinématographiques à la University of London (SOAS, Angleterre), après une Licence en Radio-TV-Cinéma à l’Université de Howard (Washington, District de Columbia, USA).
Elle est la programmatrice du Ciné-club mensuel HAIR IN THE GATE (Washington).
Fondatrice de Parallel Film Collective, elle dirige la Section de Washington DC pour AFFRM (Ava Duvernay). Montré Aza MISSOURI a été Visiting Film Curator au Africa Centre de Londres.

Professor Missouri is a filmmaker and film studies researcher who has recently completed her Ph.D. in Film and Media Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London where her work centered on the intersection race, sex and Afro-religiosity in the cinematic construction of national identity. She has also produced documentary and narrative films in England, Northern Ireland, Nigeria, Ghana and the U.S. Professor Missouri is Coordinator of the MFA in Film Program.

Founder of Parallel Film Collective – She is is Film Professor at Howard University – Washington DC AFFRM Leader – Visiting Film Curator at The Africa Centre London.
