Biography
Contemporary Art to speak inspire and motivate society
Over the last three years of creating Art, Stacey Gillian a recent graduate in Art and Industrial design from Kyambogo University, Kampala has dedicated her skills to creating for community with the aim of inspiring and motivating people mainly the female gender through being more assertive. Daring to try out what is considered difficult for women; she has left her goal marks through creating various installations and sculptures around East Africa. Within only two years, Gillian has made a huge stride in terms of community development by making huge installations , art works ranging from stone works to glass, cement, and metal. She has also participated in local and international events; exhibitions, a symposium, residency and workshops in sculpture and painting with her themes leaning more on gender equity, social economic issues and environmental conservation hence reflect her social conscience while creating a link between art and community and the desire for social transformation in Africa.
