Andrew Botelle is based in Windhoek, Namibia, managing the video production company MaMoKoBo Video & Research. For the last 24 years producing documentary films about pre-history, environment, culture and natural history. These films focus on bringing to life the oral histories and unwritten stories of southern Africa.

Won « Audience Choice for Best Film » at the 2014 Film Awards for the 1-hour documentary « Waterberg to Waterberg: in the footsteps of Samuel Maharero » shot in Namibia, Botswana and South Africa, funded by the Namibia Film Commission. The 2-part documentary film « Born in Etosha » won Best Documentary at 2012 Namibia Film Awards. The films focus on the history of Etosha National Park and told by the elders who were born there. Etosha game park is today Namibia’s biggest tourist attraction. Won Audience Choice + Best Documentary at Namibia’s Wild Cinema Film Festival for « Journey of a Rain Shaman » (2007) and « The Awakening » (2008), short, part-animated stories about the Hai /Om Bushmen of Etosha National Park. Won Audience Choice for Best Film at Poland’s AfyKamera Film Festival (2011) for « The Power Stone ».

CurTentLy researching and filming a documentary about the history and mythology of the Brandberg Mountain in the Namib Desert, « The Burning Mountain ». Also producing a graphic novel, « The Sleeping Giant », a fictional story about the Spitzkoppe mountain in the Namib Desert.

With an MSc in Natural Resource Management from SIlsoe College in the UK Andrew has been commissioned to produce several science films for various clients around the world, including, « The Power of Raindrops », with Polytechnic of Namibia and EMU in Australia, « Fire Management » with the United Nations University, « Changing Landscapes: Future Past » with Bath-Spa University in the UK. In 2015 will be pitching a TV series about Namibian historical Heroes.

Work focuses on researching Namibia’s rich oral and natural history, adventure and the great Namibian outdoors.
