Akon, de son vrai nom Aliaune Badara Thiam, est un chanteur et producteur de RnB américano-sénégalais né le 16 avril 1973 à Saint-Louis dans le Missouri. Son premier single Locked Up et son premier album Trouble sont sortis en 2004.

With 40 Billboard Hot 100 songs and over 300 guest appearances with megastars such as Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, Gwen Stefani, R. Kelly and Eminem, Akon is one of the most popular artists and producers in music today. He rose to prominence with the smash hit single « Locked Up » from his debut album, Trouble, in 2004. His second album, Konvicted, earned him three Grammy Award nominations for singles « Smack That » featuring Eminem and « I Wanna Love You » featuring Snoop Dogg.
