Christopher Mlalazi

Christopher is a writer in the genres of prose, poetry, theatre and television drama. He has had short stories published in many anthologies across the world and his first collection Dancing with Life, published by ’amaBooks in 2008, won the 2009 National Arts Merit Award for Outstanding First Creative Published Work and an Honourable Mention at the 2009 Noma Awards for African Publishing. His first novel Many Rivers was published in 2009.

Christopher has received a Novib-Pen International Freedom of Expression Award for his work with Raisedon Baya, a Feuchtwanger Fellowship and was the 2011 Nordic Africa Institute Guest Writer.
