Myriam Uwiragiye BIRARA is a film director, screenwriter, producer, production designer and visual artist.
She is known for HOME / IMUHIRA (2021, Director, Screenwriter, Production Designer, Producer), THE BRIDE (2023, Director, Screenwriter, Producer).
Born in Masisi, Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of Congo) in 1992, she holds a BA in finance in addition to being a visual artist and filmmaker.
She started filmmaking career in 2010 when she was in high school and has attended various film workshops in which she directed three short films prior to producing independently her fourth short HOME (2021).
THE BRIDE (2023) is her feature debut.
