Jorge CAMAROTTI est un réalisateur, scénariste, monteur et photographe.
Né dans une famille de la classe ouvrière à Sao Paulo, au Brésil. En 2003, Jorge s’est installé à Montréal, où il a poursuivi une carrière de photographe professionnel, puis de cinéaste. Depuis ses débuts dans le cinéma il y a 10 ans, Jorge a réalisé une douzaine de courts métrages, tant documentaires que de fiction, en restant toujours fidèle à l’idée de donner la parole aux individus les plus lésés de notre société.
Jorge a écrit et réalisé Kinship (2019), qui a été sélectionné dans de nombreux festivals de films réputés tels que Palm Springs International, Maryland, Clermont-Ferrand (Sodec), Regard et qui a reçu une nomination aux Canadian Screen Awards 2020 pour le meilleur film d’animation.
En plus de travailler comme mentor pour les cinéastes BIPOC en herbe, Jorge travaille actuellement sur son premier long métrage, Edith.
