La formation de l'auteur africain se décide presque par hasard en 1994, au cours d'une fête au Parc d'Art "Bum Bum Ga" sur les collines du Chianti arétin. Gabin, rappelé pour un bis, invite à monter sur scène le saxophoniste Daniele Malvisi pour interpréter, avec lui et son frère Paul Dabiré percussionniste de Gabin depuis de nombreuses années, le dernier morceau.
A partir de ce moment, les deux musiciens, accompagnés du frère de Gabin, ont donné vie à une collaboration qui est à l'origine d'un ensemble multiculturel, particulièrement attachant, grâce aussi à l'addition du trio vocal sarde des Balentes.
Les mots "Inverse Live" indique la façon insolite par laquelle ont été réalisés ce disque et le concert : l'évolution du répertoire qui a caractérisé une longue saison de concerts exécutés à travers le monde, se concrétise en un matériel musical qui a fait ses preuves et qui conserve dans le disque les temps dilatés du "live".
Le live du "Gabin Dabiré group" représente une synthèse musicale nouvelle et divertissante, un mélange de goûts qui vont du jazz à la musique ethnique, des chansons folkloriques tribales africaines au pop et à la musique méditerranéenne. Ce mélange de goûts dégage une grande énergie qui entraîne en même temps musiciens et public en une sorte d'expérience commune.
