Abdelhamid Bouchnak

Abdelhamid BOUCHNAK (en arabe : عبد الحميد بوشناق) est un réalisateur, scénariste et producteur tunisien.

Né en 1984, Abdelhamid Bouchnak étudie à l’École supérieure de l’audiovisuel et du cinéma (ESAC) à Gammarth (Tunisie) et obtient son diplôme en 2008 avec « Miroir », son court métrage de fin d’études, qui remporte la même année le Prix du meilleur jeune réalisateur au Festival de Carthage. La même année, il poursuit sa formation à Montréal et obtient un master en études cinématographiques.
Depuis 2012, il gère Shkoon Production, sa propre société de production avec laquelle il produit et réalise des clips vidéo, des séries Web, des courts métrages et désormais des longs métrages.
Son premier long-métrage DACHRA (2019) a clôturé la Semaine Internationale de la Critique à Venise et a été présenté en projection spéciale aux JCC. PAPILLON D’OR (2021) est son deuxième long-métrage et a été présenté aux JCC de la même année.
Abdelhamid Bouchnak est le fils du chanteur tunisien Lotfi Bouchnak.

Tunisian director, screenwriter and producer.

Abdelhamid BOUCHNAK (in Arabic: عبد الحميد بوشناق) is a Tunisian director, screenwriter and producer.
He is known for DACHRA (2019) and GOLDEN BUTTERFLY / PAPILLON D’OR (2021).
Born in 1984 in Tunisia, he studied at the École supérieure de l’audiovisuel et du cinéma (ESAC) in Gammarth (Tunisia) and graduated in 2008. His graduation short film « Miroir » won the same year the prize for Best Young Director at the Carthage Film Festival. He then moved to Montreal to complete a Master’s degree in film studies.
He has since 2012 managed Shkoon Production, producing and directing many video clips, web series, short films and now features dramas. His first feature film DACHRA, closed the International Critics’ Week in Venice, and presented as a specail screening in Carthage Film Festival. GOLDEN BUTTERFLY is his second feature film.
THE NEEDLE (2023) is his third.
