The School

BIG FISH SCHOOL OF DIGITAL FILMMAKING prepares students to enter the vibrant and rewarding world of film and television.

We’re a multi-award winning South African-based school that is supported by entertainment and media industry giants, as well as big business and government. We maintain close ties with the media industry, so our courses are always relevant, hands on and simulate the workplace.

85% of our graduates will find work in the industry. 15% will work on their own productions through our Little Pond Trust!

Our courses cater for already employed students who want to further their competitive professional skills, as well as newcomers to film and TV.

More than 40 industry professionals and visiting filmmakers have trained and mentored over 700 rigorously selected students.

In May 2011, we opened a sister school to our Johannesburg campus in Cape Town, South Africa.

Our credentials and track record makes BIG FISH SCHOOL OF DIGITAL FILMMAKING a film and television school of choice for thousands of South Africans.

Registered as a non profit organisation with the Department of Social Development, Incorporated as a section 21 of the SA Companies Act and also registered as a Public Benefit Organisation (Section 18A), BIG FISH SCHOOL OF DIGITAL FILMMAKING offers bursaries to selected candidates and relies on the generous support of sponsors and benefactors.
