Luxbox is a Paris-based company, dedicated to international sales and co-production of selected projects. Based on a solid film catalogue and a passionate pool of world cinema directors such as Lisandro Alonso, Bruno Dumont, Amat Escalante, Ole Giæver, Carlos Reygadas or Jonas Carpignano, the company begun 2016 by winning Best First Feature Film and Silver Bear for Best Actor at Berlinale, with the film INHEBBEK HEDI (HEDI) by Mohammed Ben Attia.
In Cannes 2016, Luxbox presented APPRENTICE by BOO Junfeng at Un Certain Regard and MIMOSAS by Oliver Laxe that won the Grand Prize of the Critic’s Week.
In Locarno 2016, two titles in competition, MARIJA, a first German feature film by Michael Koch and DAO KHANONG (By the Time It Gets dark), the new film by Anocha Suwichakornpong.

Luxbox began 2017 by presenting BARRAGE, by Laura Schroeder, at Forum Berlin and the fresh Colombian comedy BAD LUCKY GOAT by Samir Oliveros in SXSW. Luxbox is also handling the Cannes 2017 titles JEANNETTE, THE CHILDHOOD OF JOAN OF ARC, musical film by Bruno Dumont (Directors’ Fortnight), FROST by Sharunas Bartas (Directors’ Fortnight), A CIAMBRA by Jonas Carpignano (Directors’ Fortnight) and THEY by Anahita Ghazvinizadeh, selected in Special Screening Official Selection Cannes 2017.

In 2017, Luxbox also presented COCOTE by Nelson Carlo de los Santos Arias in Locarno, where the film won Best Film in the Signs of Life section, THE ETERNAL FEMININE by Natalia Beristain, which premiered at Rome Film Festival, and IN THE INTENSE NOW by João Moreira Salles, which premiered in the Panorama section of Berlinale.

This year, Luxbox is handling CENTRAL AIRPORT THF by Karim Aïnouz, which will premiere at Panorama Berlin, and THE HEIRESSES by Marcelo Martinessi, selected in the Berlinale official competition.
