Association Culturelle

L’association culturelle ..né.à Beyrouth a été fondée à Paris en novembre 2002, dans le but de promouvoir le cinéma libanais dans le Monde. Elle assure ainsi une visibilité continue aux cinéastes libanais et espère par là stimuler l’intérêt de ceux qui voudraient investir dans des projets cinématographiques au Liban,
Pour cela, l’assocation se consacre à trois activités principales:

1. L’édition de DVD contenant des courts métrages ou des films expériementaux libanais.

2. Préparer des rencontres entre cinéastes libanais et étrangers, en vue de stimuler un réel dialogue cinématographique.

3. Organiser des projections de films libanais, et/ou les proposer à des manifestations cinématographiques déjà existantes.

Cultural Organization

The cultural organization..né.à Beyrouth was founded in Paris in November 2002, in order to promote Lebanese films in Lebanon and abroad. The promotions activities led by the organization offer continuous visibility to Lebanese filmmakers, thus encouraging all those producers to invest in cinematographic projects in Lebanon.

The association carries out various activities, and principally:

1. DVD releases of compilation of Lebanese short films.

2. Organizing meetings between Lebanese and foreign filmmakers in order to encourage a real cinematographic dialogue.

3. Organizing screenings of Lebanese films and/or proposing them during already-existing cinematographic events or festivals.

DVD releases

2004

DVD release of the « Home Movies » films #1,2,3 & 4
These 4 short films of 10 to 25 minutes each are based on Super 8mm footage shot by Lebanese families between the 50’s and the 80’s in Lebanon. The films are originally silent but they are presented with musical performances that were recorded at the first screening of the films during the Lebanese Film Festival, Beirut.
The films are:

2005

This DVD is a compilation of 5 lebanese short films and 2 animation films that were all screened at the Lebanese Film Festival. This DVD is a wonderful tool to promote local cinematographic work especially shorts films that usually do not benefit from such promotional efforts in Lebanon. This DVD was produced thanks to the collaboration of the Société Générale de Banque au Liban (SGBL).
