It’s time for the third edition of Selam Festival in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia! We aim to make it The Music Event of the year with national, regional and international artists from several countries at Ghion Hotel Unity Park on the 8th and 9th of December!
For all of you music lovers Selam Festival is just around the corner. The festival which is in its third year will begin on Saturday December 8th, 2012. This annual music bash is one of the few platforms which offer a unique setting for concerts, cultural shows and workshops to promote music and culture.
Artists, spectators, and music industry players converge at Selam’s venue to partake in music and cultural exchange. The aim of the festival is bringing together artists, industry players, and cultural troupes to interact, collaborate and perform to a wide audience.
This year’s festival has an impressive line-up for you with artists like Erik Wainaina from Kenya, Timbuktu from Sweden, Mahmoud Ahmed, Alpha Blondy from Cote D’Ivoire and many more. The event will not only feature singers but also famous cultural dance groups like Ethio Color.
Selam Festival also recognizes the role of the entertainment sector and organizes workshops, capacity building programs, artists’ roundtable as well as forums to create dialogue as well as extend support to the performing arts.
Selam is an independent non-profit music organization that is registered in Sweden and Ethiopia, but also takes part in co-operational projects in the Gambia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.
