KwaMashu KZN African Film Festival

English
started in 2004
All the success stories of the festival influenced the name change of the festival so that it will extend its boundaries and become the Festival of the Province. The department of Arts Culture and Tourism, and the National Film and Video Foundation came on board as partners of this festival. The festival will also be extended to the provinces Capital City in Pietermaritsburg. The purpose of extending this event to Umsunduzi is to reach more young people and give them skills on how to make films.
The Festival will also position the Pietermaritsburg area as one of the locations that can be identified by film makers for shooting films. KwaMashu already has been used to make films such as Nothing but The Truth by John Kani and KwaMashu Still my Home by Edmund Mhlongo.
