L’Alliance française de Suva a été créée en 1987. Elle fait partie d’un réseau mondial composé de 1100 Alliances françaises dont la plus ancienne fut créée en 1883 à Paris. L’Alliance française de Suva est également une association locale, officiellement enregistrée aux îles Fidji en tant qu’association à but non lucratif. Elle est dirigée par un comité administratif et a établi un accord de collaboration avec l’Ambassade de France à Suva.

The Alliance française of Suva is a school of French language and culture, teaching French and also Fijian. It features a Media Center: a growing collection of French DVDs subtitled in English, and music CDs. Also available are novels, « bandes dessinées » (comics for children and adults) and a choice of cultural, historical books. It aims to promote cultural events and invites everyone to a free Cinema every 2 wednesday nights.
