"Poussières de Juillet", réalisé en 1967 par Hachemi El-Chérif.est tiré d'un poème de Kateb Yacine. "On avait fait un film sur le retour des cendres de l’Émir Abdelkader, en Algérie. C'était l'occasion de faire un film sur les ancêtres avec M'hamed Issiakhem. Il a dessiné des plaques de verres sur la base de mes textes. Ensuite on a fait collaborer des acteurs. C'était un film qui nous a coûté en tout 300 dinars, preuve qu'on pouvait faire du travail pour la télévision sans trop d'argent.



Nous avons gagné deux premiers prix internationaux au festival de Belgrade. On a laissé l'original du film aux Égyptiens à Alexandrie et ils l'ont perdu. On a gardé une copie mais avec le temps je me demande ce qu'elle est devenue, parce qu'il n'y a pas même eu une projection, on dit qu'elle ça existe encore, mais je ne sais pas dans quel état. "

“Poussières de Juillet”, produced in 1967 by Hachemi El-Chérif, is taken from a poem by Kateb Yacine. "We made a film on the return of the ashes of Emir Abdelkader, to Algeria.
