Massinissa, fut chef des cavaleries numides et aguellides. Les capitales des Massaesyles et des Massyles, respectivement Siga et Cirta, étaient des centres économiques prospères et puissants. Sous son règne, l'État algérien développe l'agriculture en fixant les populations nomades, fonde des villes, organise une administration efficace, met sur pied une armée fortement équipée et donne un élan sans précédant aux arts et à la culture.

Massinissa, was chief of the Numidian and the Aguellides cavalry. The capitals of Massaesyles and Massinissa, respectively Siga and Cirta, were prosperous and powerful economic centers. Under his reign, the Algerian state developed agriculture by settling nomadic populations, founded towns, organized an efficient administration, set up a highly equipped army and gave an unprecedented boost to arts and culture.
