À Marrakech en plein cœur de la place Jamâa El Fna. Un jeune délinquant (Abderrahman, connu sous le nom d’Abdou) passe son temps à harceler les touristes en leur vendant tout ce qu’il lui passe par la main, mais durant les moments creux il devient dealer. Averti de ses agissements, la police décide de l’arrêter.
Lors d’une poursuite frénétique, Abdou croise des chercheurs américains en train de tester une nouvelle machine à remonter le temps sur des monuments délaissés. Abdou se fait attraper par un rayon X et se trouve soudainement propulsé dans une civilisation lointaine. Celle de la dynastie des Almohades qui ont régné sur le grand Maghreb et l’Espagne musulmane de 1147 à 1269 sous le règne de Yaâkoub AL MANSSOUR. Abdou va vivre des grandes aventures et découvrira les splendeurs et la noblesse d’une époque glorieuse.
