Habib Mestiri

Né à Chebba le 06 Juillet 1959, il rejoint le Club des Cinéastes Amateurs (FTCA) de Chebba en 1977 où il réalise son premier court métrage « Le retour du pêcheur » (16 mm) et participe à la réalisation des films produits par le club. Il poursuit ses études supérieures à Tunis où il occupe plusieurs postes au sein du bureau fédéral de la FTCA (Fédération Tunisienne des Cinéastes Amateurs). Il participe activement à l’organisation du FIFAK (Festival International du Film Amateur de Kélibia) et prend part à l’organisation des JCC (Journées Cinématographiques de Carthage).

De 1981 à 1986, Habib Mestiri entame une expérience de journalisme culturel et publie régulièrement dans la page culturel du journal Attarik Al-Jadid. Il est également assistant réalisateur dans des films professionnels tels que Equinoxe du cinéaste argentin Pablo César (1991) ainsi que plusieurs courts métrages tunisiens (avec Mounira Bhar, Belgacem Jelliti ?). Il réalise plusieurs spots publicitaires et des films documentaires (Kélibia la rencontre). En 1994, il part à Rome en Italie où il a été sélectionné pour faire partie de l’équipe fondatrice de la première chaine arabe de cinéma (Orbit Al-Oula). Son travail en tant que réalisateur-producteur au sein du Bouquet de chaines Orbit, lui vaut plusieurs prix et distinctions internationales. En 2007, il quitte Orbit pour devenir free lance et réalise plusieurs documentaires pour la chaîne Qatari Aljazeera.

En 2008, il renoue avec le cinéma tunisien en réalisant Makkirama (court métrage documentaire sur le peintre tunisien Hatem Makki) ainsi qu’un documentaire historique intitulé De Carthage à Matmata. Il est auteur en 2009 de deux docu-fictions en Italie : Le cercle magique et Le retour du marin. Habib Mestiri est membre depuis 2008 de l’Association Italienne des documentaristes. Il est également consultant en communication et événementiel en Europe pour Mode & design.

He was born in Chabba of Mahdia on July, 06 1959. Habib Mestiri did his secondary studies in Sfax. He has been a member the Amateur Filmmakers Club of Chabba (FTCA) since 1977. He made his first short film « The return of the fisherman » (16 mm) and participated in the films produced by the club. He occupied several posts within the federal office of the FTCA (Tunisian Federation of the Amateurs Filmmakers). He participated actively to the organization of the FIFAK (International Festival of Amateur Film of Kélibia) and takes part to the organization of the JCC (Carthage International Film festival). He is equally assistant director in professional films such as Equinoxe of Argentinean film director Pablo Caesar (1991) as well as several short Tunisian films (with Mounira Bhar, Belgacem Jelliti ?). In 1994, He went to Rome in Italy where He was selected as member of the founding team of the first Arabic channel of movie (Orbit Al oula). He worked as senior producer & director within the Orbit Channels, and He had several prices and international distinctions. In 2007, he left Orbit to become free lance and realizes several documentaries for the Qatari Channel Aljazeera. In 2008, he become to the Tunisian cinema with Makkirama (documentary short film on the Tunisian painter Hatem Makki) as well as a historic documentary entitled From Carthage to Matmata. He is author in 2009 of two docu-fictions in Italy: The magic circle and « Le retour du marin ». Habib Mestiri is member since 2008 of the Documentary Italian Association. He is consultant in communication and events in Europe for Mode & design.

من مواليد الشابة من ولاية المهدية في سنة 1959. أنظم مبكر إلى نادي السينمائيين الهواة بالشابة و أخرج فيلما قصيرا بعنوان: عودة البحار كما شارك في إنجاز الأفلام التي أنتجها النادي. تولى في ما بعد عدة مسؤوليات ضمن المكتب الجامعي للجامعة التونسية للسينمائيين الهواة و ساهم في تنظيم المهرجان الدولي لفيلم الهواة بقليبية. متحصل على دبلوم في الاخراج للسينما و التلفزيون من الاكادمية المتوسطية للتكوين بفرنسا كما تلقى تكوينا في مجال كتابة السيناريو من الفيميس بفرنسا و من معهد قوتا بالمانيا, كتب عدة مقالات بالصفحة الثقافية لجريدة « الطريق الجديد » و عمل مخرجا مساعدا في عدة أفلام تونسية و أجنبية. تم اختياره في سنة 1994 ضمن الفريق الذي كلف بإنشاء أول قناة عربية متخصصة في السينما « أوربيت الأولى » في روما بإيطاليا. عمل في شبكة قنوات أوربيت كمخرج و منتج لعدة برامج تلفزيونية 81;ازت جوائز عديدة. غادر في سنة 2007 شبكة الأوربيت ليقدم كمخرج مستقل عدة أفلام وثائقية لصالح قناة الجزيرة أطفال. في 2008 عاد إلى السينما من خلال فيلم وثائقي قصير بعنوان  » مكي راما » عن حياة الفنان التشكيلي التونسي حاتم المكي. الحبيب المستيري عضو منذ 2008 بالجمعية الإيطالية لمخرجي الأفلام الوثائقية. وهو مستشار إعلامي لتظاهرات أروبية للموضة و التصميم.
