Jorge Murteira

Jorge Murteira est né à Lisbonne en 1966. Il a vécu au Cap-Vert, Luanda, Lisbonne et Marvão, Alentejo, Portugal. Il a voyagé à travers l'Afrique et l'Asie, où il a fait des films et des photos.

Âgé de 41 years (en 2008), après un diplôme en Anthropologie sociale et un 3ème cycle en Etudes africaines, il défend les films 6 ans durant dans la Commission pour les Découvertes Portugaises.

Il se lance comme assistant réalisateur en 1987 et depuis 2000 produit et réalise des documentaires et vidéos institutionelles.

Son premier documentaire, "Rebels at the end of time "était en 2002.

"The Boatman's House" est son dernier documentaire. Filmé à Alentejo (Portugal), ce projet a reçu en octobre 2007 deux prix au Vème Festival International du Film de Lisbonne (Portugal), Doc Lisboa.

41 years old, with a degree in Social Anthropology and a post-graduation in African Studies, has been promoting docs for 6 years for the Commission for the Portuguese Discoveries.

He started as director assistant in 1987 and since 2000 produces and directs institutional docs and videos for exhibitions.

His first doc, "Rebels at the end of time "was in 2002.

"The Boatman's House" is his last documentary. Filmed in Alentejo, Portugal, this project received last October two awards in the V Lisbon International Documentary Film Festival, Doc Lisboa.
