Kamel Messaoudi, né le 30 janvier 1961 à Bouzaréah (quartier d'Alger) dans au sein d'une famille Kabyle originaire de Freha wilaya de Tizi Ouzou en Algérie, et mort le 10 décembre 1998 d'un accident de voiture à Alger, est un chanteur et musicien algérien de Chaâbi et le neveu du célèbre joueur du mouloudia club d'alger SaÏd Haddad.
Biographie
Né le 30 janvier 1961 à Bouzaréah, un quartier populaire de la banlieue algéroise, Kamel Messaoudi grandit dans une famille modeste d'origine kabyle, il a vécu dans le quartier de Gai Soleil à El Biar, il s'était intéressé très vite au sport et aux spectacles. Son père l'encourage à se consacrer davantage à ses études où il est très bon, plutôt qu'à la chanson.
Il fut influencé par son frère aîné qui jouait de la musique, il choisit lui aussi de devenir musicien. Ses débuts ont eu lieu en 1974 quand il monta un groupe de musique chaâbi, la voix posée du chanteur l'a rapidement fait connaitre aux habitants du quartier, ses premiers admirateurs.
En 1985, Kamel Messaoudi a fait une tentative de production d'un disque. Malgré la modernité et la particularité du style du chanteur, son œuvre n'a pas été un grand succès mais toutefois commercialisée sous forme de mini-cassette en 1990.
En 1991, son titre Echemâa est un véritable succès. Il enchaine plusieurs chansons, son style donne un nouveau souffle au Chaâbi et devient très vite connu. Kamel Messaoudi était très influencé par Cheikh El Hasnaoui, Slimane Azem, Lounès Matoub et par Dahmane El Harrachi.
Le 10 décembre 1998, après avoir participé à une émission télévisée diffusée en direct sur l'ENTV, où il répondit sur une question du présentateur qui demandait pourquoi n’apprenait-il pas par cœur la poésie chaâbi, il répondit : "C'est charmant de connaître cette poésie, mais je préfère apprendre quelques versets du Coran, que je trouverais peut-être à mes côtés le Jour du jugement Inch'Allah".
Il meurt dans un accident de voiture le 10 décembre 1998.

He was influenced by his older brother who played music, he too chose to become a musician. His debut took place in 1974 when he set up a chaâbi music group, the singer's calm voice quickly made him known to the residents of the neighborhood, his first admirers.
In 1985, Kamel Messaoudi made an attempt to produce a record. Despite the modernity and particularity of the singer's style, his work was not a great success but was nevertheless marketed in the form of a mini-cassette in 1990.
In 1991, his title Echemâa was a real success. He sang several songs, his style breathed new life into Chaâbi and quickly became known. Kamel Messaoudi was very influenced by Cheikh El Hasnaoui, Slimane Azem, Lounès Matoub and by Dahmane El Harrachi.
On December 10, 1998, after participating in a television program broadcast live on ENTV, where he responded to a question from the presenter who asked why he did not learn Chaâbi poetry by heart, he replied: "it's lovely to know this poetry, but I prefer to learn some verses of the Koran, which I would perhaps find by my side on the Day of Judgment Inch'Allah".
He died in a car accident on December 10, 1998.
