Sina Sinayoko

Sina Sinayoko est né vers 1940 à Bankounmama, un village sur le bord du fleuve Niger, à une cinquantaine de km de Bamako, sur la route de la Guinée.

Sina Sinayoko was born in Bankounmana, a village close to the Niger River some 35 miles southwest of Bamako in the direction of Conakry in Guinea. He doesn’t know his exact date of birth but according to his parents, he was born in around 1940. His father grew crops of millet, maize and groundnut, and his uncle on his mother’s side, a hunter named Dagaba Doumbia, took part in the ceremonies of the donso ton, one of the most ancient organised societies in western Africa.
