Elle a réalisé Mémoires du 08 mai 1945 (Algérie, 2008, documentaire, 60mins), sur les massacres de l’armée coloniale française contre le peuple algérien, en pleine célébration de la libération de la France (en grande partie grâce aux soldats algériens).
Elle est aussi la coscénariste du film NDER (2010) du regretté Mahama Johnson Traoré, réalisateur sénégalais. Ce film porte encore sur des fait réels : les femmes de Nder au Sénégal qui se sont immolées par le feu en novembre 1819, pour ne pas être réduites en esclavage par des flibustiers maures. Cette épisode de l’histoire du Sénégal est connue sous le nom de TALAATAY NDER (« le mardi de Nder », en langue wolove) ; le drame s’étant produit un mardi soir.

Mariem Hamidat a créé HKE production Algérie, en 2008, avec Xavier Florent et Pierre Olivier Krepper. La structure a pour vocation la production et la production exécutive de films documentaires et de fictions.
Elle crée HKE production, en 2014, en France, dont elle est la dirigeante.

She directed and produced Memoirs of May 08, 1945 (Algeria, 2008, documentary, 60mins), on the massacres of the French colonial army against the Algerian people, in full celebration of the liberation of France (in largely thanks to the Algerian soldiers).
She is also the co-screenwriter of the film NDER (2010) by Mahama Johnson Traoré, the late Senegalese director. This film also deals with real facts: the women of Nder in Senegal who set themselves on fire in November 1819, so as not to be enslaved by Moorish filibusters. This episode in the history of Senegal is known as TALAATAY NDER (« Tuesday of Nder », in Wolof language); the drama happened on a Tuesday evening.
