Yaron Shani

Yaron Shani est un Juif israélien né en 1973. Il est diplômé du département Cinéma et Télévision de l’Université de Tel-Aviv. Son film de fin d’études, DISPHORIA, un drame de 40 minutes, a remporté le Prix du Public au Festival International du Film d’Etudiant de Babelsberg ainsi que le Prix Spécial du Jury à Karlovy Vary. Le film a été programmé sur ARTE et sur la ZDF (Allemagne) et a été projeté dans différents festivals internationaux. En 2002, en tant que directeur du Festival International du Film Etudiant de Tel-Aviv, il rencontre Scandar Copti. Ils commencent alors à travailler ensemble sur leur premier long métrage, AJAMI. A cette époque, Yaron avait déjà réalisé et monté des documentaires et des films en 3D pour Orpan Group qui sont diffusés dans des musées et des cinémas du monde entier. Il a coréalisé avec Scandar Copti le long métrage AJAMI (2009).

Yaron Shani is an Israeli Jew, born in 1973. He graduated the Tel Aviv University Department of Film and Television with his thesis film DISPHORIA, a 40-minute drama, which won the Audience Award at the Babelsberg International Student Film Festival, as well as a Special Jury Mention at Karlovy Vary. The film was broadcast on ARTE and ZDF (Germany), and participated in several other international festivals. As the director of The Tel Aviv Interna-tional Student Film Festival in 2002, he met Scandar Copti, and they both started to develop their first feature film AJAMI (released in 2009). In that time, Yaron had directed and edited documentaries and 3D films for Orpan Group, shown in museums and cinema theaters all over the world.
