Fouad SOUIBA est un journaliste, chroniqueur télé, Rédacteur en chef, essayiste, scénariste, producteur et réalisateur.

Fouad Souiba est né à Rabat, Maroc, le 16 février 1963. Après des études au Maroc et au Québec, il obtient un diplôme en communication et journalisme. Depuis 1982 il a mené une intense activité de journaliste, chroniqueur de télé, animateur de festivals de cinéma. Journaliste de formation et de carrière, Fouad Souiba a exercé dans plusieurs quotidiens marocains, à la radio et à la télévision en tant qu’animateur de programmes et producteur d’éditions spéciales. Rédacteur en chef de plusieurs magazines dont notamment Cinémasrah et Al Machhad, il est co-auteur avec Fatima Zahra El Alaoui du livre Un Siècle de cinéma au Maroc. Il est aussi membre du comité de rédaction de l’ouvrage Regards Immortels conduit sous la houlette de Larbi Esqualli et collaborateur à d’autres livres collectifs.
Scénariste, producteur et réalisateur d’une série de 10 documentaires et portraits consacrés aux plus célèbres auteurs de cinéma au Maroc, au profit de la chaîne de télévision Al Jazeera. Scénariste, producteur et réalisateur de cinéma, il signe en 2004 Dream Boy, qui est son premier court métrage. S’enchaîneront ensuite en 2007, deux autres courts métrages pour le cinéma; une fiction: Mia Derial (5 Dirhams) et un documentaire: Chuchotements à un ange qui passe, (Whispers to a passing by angel). En 2007, il coréalise avec Fouad Alaywan un documentaire intitulé Sanaouat Arrassas (Années de plomb), produit par Al Jazeera. Il relate les atrocités vécues par d’anciens détenus politiques dans les geôles marocaines, au travers d’authentiques témoignages des victimes de cette période noire dont certains sont aujourd’hui journalistes et auteurs d’ouvrages à la base des films dédiés à cette expérience exceptionnelle. Le documentaire interroge les auteurs des livres et les cinéastes sur les conditions dans lesquelles ils ont écrit des livres et signés des films portant sur les atrocités liées à l’emprisonnement politique. Il signe en 2010 son troisième court métrage de fiction Baouabat Assaâda (Porte du bonheur). Fouad Souiba peaufine actuellement le scénario de son premier long métrage intitulé Engrenages dédié curieusement aux trente dernières années du Maroc moderne. En avril 2012 il publie son premier roman « L’Incompris du Hay Mohammadi ».

Fouad SOUIBA is a journalist, TV columnist, editor-in-chief, writer, screenwriter, producer and director.

Born in Rabat, Morocco, on February 16, 1963, Fouad Souiba studied in Morocco and Quebec, before obtaining a degree in communication and journalism. Since 1982 he has carried out an intense activity as a journalist, TV columnist, host of film festivals. A journalist by training and career, Fouad Souiba has worked in several Moroccan dailies, on radio and television as a program host and producer of special editions. Editor-in-chief of several magazines including Cinémasrah and Al Machhad, he is co-author with Fatima Zahra El Alaoui of the book A Century of Cinema in Morocco. He is also a member of the editorial board of the book Regards Immortels conducted under the direction of Larbi Esqualli and contributor to other collective books.
Screenwriter, producer and director of a series of 10 documentaries and portraits devoted to the most famous filmmakers in Morocco, for the benefit of the Al Jazeera television channel. Screenwriter, producer and film director, in 2004 he signed Dream Boy, which was his first short film. Then followed in 2007, two other short films for the cinema; a fiction: Mia Derial (5 Dirhams) and a documentary: Whispers to a passing by angel. In 2007, he co-directed with Fouad Alaywan a documentary entitled Sanaouat Arrassas (Years of lead), produced by Al Jazeera. It recounts the atrocities experienced by former political detainees in Moroccan jails, through authentic testimonies of the victims of this dark period, some of whom are today journalists and authors of books on the basis of films dedicated to this exceptional experience.. The documentary questions the authors of the books and the filmmakers on the conditions under which they wrote books and made films about the atrocities linked to political imprisonment. In 2010, he directed his third short fiction film Baouabat Assaâda (Porte du bonheur). Fouad Souiba is currently refining the screenplay for his first feature film entitled Gears curiously dedicated to the last thirty years of modern Morocco. In April 2012 he published his first novel « L’Incompris du Hay Mohammadi ».
