CREATIONS
Domba Sanou is actually admitted as a good stringed-instrument maker, and especially because he had adapted this ancestral instrument to universal and multidimensional agreements. Since the end of 2006, he studies a new design in the assembly of a particular Kora. After two tears of non stop research, he elaborates the TIEKORA. It’s a Kora with several necks, which allow multiplication of cords, with one or several calabash (which is the sound box). The other components of the TIEKORA are skin, wood fabric, cords made up of fishing wire, iron and bugs In 2008, the TIEKORA 42 strings appeared for the first time in the Arts Christmas Market of French Cultural Centre Henri Matisse of Bobo-Dioulasso.
TIEKORA is actually protected by the Burkinabe Office of Royalties (BBDA).
Instruments
TIEKORA 42
This Kora has two necks, therefore 42 strings, 21 strings per neck, connect on the same calabash. Playing on the TIEKORA 42 is the base of the second album « Wata ».
TIEKORA 63
It is a Kora with 63 strings connected on a large calabash and three necks. There are 21 strings per neck. TIEKORA is definitely a revolution for the world of African artistic creations, following a detailed work by Tiekorkora.
TIEKORA SUPERPOSEE
Domba Sanou would propose his talent of creator, and decides to show that to be an artist does not mean to be insane or wandering, but to be able to do a work out of the common run. TIEKORA SUPERPOSEE is specially design for two or three playing on the same instrument.
It has two calabashes, face to face, surmounted by three necks. There are 21 strings in one face and 42 in the other.
