LUO JIN (Liwei, in BIUTIFUL, by Alejandro González Iñárritu, 2009) was born to a doctor’s family in Jiangxi China. In the midst of a
mischievous childhood, he started practicing Kungfu at the age of 12. By the age of 16, he had been pre-selected to enter a traditional Chinese opera school to begin rigorous study in the arts of drama. Just as he was about to become a professional Chinese opera actor, he suddenly decided to change his direction again. After intensive training in the art of Chinese traditional opera acting, Luo Jin instead became a student at the Beijing Film Academy in 2002 and the first chapter of his new life began.
In 2006, Luo Jin was featured in the Chinese movie « Fujian Blues », which won the Dragon & Tiger Award at the Vancouver Film Festival. The success of « Fujian Blues » catapulted Luo Jin to new heights, and he suddenly became a highly sought-after actor in China. Recently, he participated in the blockbuster TV epic series « The Romance of 3 Kingdoms ».
