Simona CELLA est une historienne du cinéma, enseignante et journaliste.
Elle est diplômée en histoire du cinéma à l'Université de Parme, avec une thèse sur Djibril Diop Mambéty, cinéaste sénégalais. Après une longue expérience en tant que responsable de projets de développement à la société de production cinématographique Lumière et Co., elle s'est spécialisée dans le développement et la gestion de projets culturels liés à l'Afrique. De 2008 à 2015, elle a planifié les activités du Festival du Festival du Festival du film africain d'Asie et d'Amérique latine à Milan (FESCAAAL). Elle a acquis une longue expérience d'enseignante et enseigne actuellement dans un centre de formation professionnelle. Elle est l'auteur de sujets et de scénarios de documentaires et de longs métrages. Elle fait partie de l'équipe éditoriale du magazine biennal "Africa e Mediterraneo" (Sasso Marconi, Bologne, Italie). Elle écrit sur le cinéma dans le bimensuel "Africa" (Milano).
Elle a dirigé (avec Cinzia QUADRATI), le livre "Djibril Diop Mambéty ou le voyage de la hyène" (préface de Martin Scorsese), 2020, 182 p., ed. L'Harmattan (paru en italien, en 2019, sous le titre "Djibril Diop Mambéty o il viaggio della iena. La rivoluzione cinematografica di un visionario regista senegalese", L'Harmattan Italia).

She graduated in cinema history (University of Parma, Italy), with a thesis on Djibril Diop Mambéty, Senegalese filmmaker.
After a long experience as a development project manager at the film production company Lumière et Co., she specialized in the development and management of cultural projects related to Africa. From 2008 to 2015, she planned the activities of the Festival of the Asian and Latin American African Film Festival in Milan (FESCAAAL). She has acquired a long experience as a teacher and currently teaches in a vocational training center. She is the author of topics and scripts for documentaries and feature films. She is part of the editorial team of the biennial magazine "Africa e Mediterraneo" (Sasso Marconi, Bologna, Italy). She writes about cinema in the fortnightly "Africa" (Milano).
