Nadia Chouïeb

Réalisatrice franco-algérienne.

Née en 1975 à Saint-Étienne (France) et a passé son enfance à Jihel, en Algérie. Elle s’installe en France durant les années du terrorisme et devient journaliste.
Elle retourne en Algeria en 2008 ; elle travaille actuellement comme opératrice culturelle dans le Sahara algérien. En 2016, elle participe avec son projet de documentaire MAYDOUM HAL aux 14è Rencontres Tënk de co-production, à Saint-Louis, Sénégal.

She was born in 1975 in Saint – Etienne and spent her childhood in Jijel, in Algeria. She moved to France during the years of terrorism and became a journalist. She then devoted her energies to humanitarian actions and to the fight for the protection of the environment, subsequently becoming a photographer and video-maker. She returned to Algeria in 2008 and currently works as a cultural operator in the Algerian Sahara. In 2016, she pitched MAYDOUM HAL, her documentary project, at the 14th Rencontres Tënk de co-production, in Saint-Louis, Senegal.

Nasce nel 1975 a Saint -Etienne e trascorre l’infanzia a Jihel, in Algeria. Si trasferisce in Francia negli anni del terrorismo e diventa giornalista. Si dedica dunque ad azioni umanitarie e di lotta per la difesa dell’ambiente, per poi seguire la strada della fotografia e della produzione video. Tornata in Algeria nel 2008, lavora attualmente come operatrice culturale nell’Algeria sahariana.
