Fina Torres

Fina Torres est née à Caracas, Vénézuela en 1951.
Elle a étudié à l’Institut des Hautes Etudes Cinématographiques à Paris tout en travaillant comme photographe dans un journal. Parmi ses court-métrages, on compte, « Un Largo Viaje (Un long voyage) » et « Véronique Sanson ». Le prix de la Caméra d’Or du Festival du Film de Cannes lui a été décerné pour son premier long-métrage « Oriane » en 1985. Son deuxième long-métrage, « Mécaniques Célestes (Celestial Clockwork) », a eté projeté en avant-première lors du premier festival du film de St Barth en 1996. « Amour, Piments et Bossa Nova » (Woman On Top) en 2000 est son troisième long-métrage.

Her short films include « Un Largo Viaje » and « Veronique Sanson », while her first feature film, « Oriana », won the 1985 Caméra d’Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival. Her second feature, « Celestial Clockwork », was seen as an avant-premiere at the first annual St. Barth Film Festival in 1996. « Woman On Top » (2000) is her third feature film.
