Simplice Ganou

Simplice Herman GANOU est né en 1974. Ce réalisateur et scénariste burkinabè a travaillé comme éducateur avec les enfants de la rue. Il intègre le Master de Réalisation Documentaire à l’Université Gaston Bergé de Saint Louis du Sénégal en 2010. Il y a réalisé un court métrage documentaire : Un peuple, un bus, une foi, son film de fin d’études, sélectionné aux États généraux du Documentaire de Lussas et au festival de Tampere. Il a également réalisé pour Arte, Ato, court-métrage documentaire (2011, 15′). Bakoroman (2011, doc, 62′) est son premier film professionnel. En 2017, il réalise Le Koro du bakoro, naufragés du Faso (doc, 78′) qui remporte le Tanit d’Or aux JCC 2017 en Tunisie.

Simplice Herman Ganou was born in August 1974. He is director and screenwriter from Burkina Faso and worked as an educator of street children. He joined an MA in Documentary Filmmaking at the Gaston Berger University of Saint Louis in Senegal in 2010.
Bakoroman (2011, doc, 62′) is his first professional film. In 2017, he won the Golden Tanit at Carthage Film Festival with The Koro of Bakoro, the Survivors of Faso / Le Koro du bakoro, naufragés du Faso (doc, 78′), World Premiered in 2017 Visions du Réel FilmFest, Nyon.
