Ivan Goldschmidt

Réalisateur diplômé en 1984 à l’INSAS, Ivan Goldschmidt est d’abord réalisateur de films.
Il a, tout au long de sa carrière, mis essentiellement son talent au service des acteurs. Après avoir été l’un des premiers coachs très remarqué de la Ligue d’Improvisation Belge, côtoyant une magnifique génération de comédiens.
Ivan est toujours resté, à travers ses réalisations, un grand découvreur de talents.
Après des centaines de films publicitaires et industriels axés sur la comédie, couronné de nombreux prix en Belgique et dans le monde, il réalise, en 1998, le court-métrage « Ketchup » au côté de Manu Coeman. Ce film original est accueilli avec succès dans les festivals internationaux et a, lui aussi, remporté de nombreuses récompenses. En 1999, il rassemble le fameux duo Serge Larivière et Thierry de Coster pour la campagne de la Kriek Bellevue qui, aujourd’hui, est devenu un phénomène unique dans l’histoire de la publicité en Belgique.
En 2001, il se frotte au théâtre avec « Love Comédie » interprétée par Marie-Paule Kumps et Stéphane De Groodt et obtient le prix « Kiosque » de la meilleure mise en scène. Il enchaîne, avec « Mémoires d’un vigile » une pièce de Benoît Forget interprétée par Thierry de Coster. Un défi ambitieux et passionnant où le théâtre se confronte au cinéma pour créer un spectacle « hors norme ».
Puis, sollicité par Isabelle Defossé et Stéphane De Groodt, des acteurs qu’il connaît bien, il replonge dans le pur plaisir de la comédie avec « Ils s’aiment » de Muriel Robin et Pierre Palmade.
Il écrit et réalise pour Canal + France le très remarqué « François le Célibataire et ses Amis Formidables ». Une série humoristique diffusée largement sur les territoires francophones.
Spécialiste de la comédie, de l’histoire courte, l’univers d’Ivan est souvent décalé, parfois tendre, parfois corrosif et toujours chargé d’humanité? Dans ses films, l’homme est au centre.
Aujourd’hui, avec NA WEWE (2010, court métrage, Burundi), Ivan s’intéresse à la face sombre de la nature humaine. Sans pour autant renier son goût de l’ironie, il aborde la thématique dramatique de la guerre et de la question identitaire.
La prochaine étape est la finition de l’écriture de son premier long-métrage.
Ivan partage actuellement son temps entre le cinéma, la publicité, la peinture et la sculpture. Une exposition des ses oeuvres est en préparation pour 2010.
