Amina Zoubir

Amina Zoubir vit et travaille entre Paris (France) et Alger (Algérie). Elle est une artiste plasticienne, réalisatrice et commissaire d’exposition d’art vidéo. Elle est diplômée d’un Master en Théorie et pratique de l’art contemporain et des nouveaux médias en 2009 à l’Université Paris 8 et d’un diplôme d’études supérieures artistiques (DESA) en Design Graphique obtenu en 2006 à l’Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts d’Alger. En 2010, elle publie sa recherche universitaire dévoilant l’art vidéo des artistes algériens en livre intitulé « Relation de l’image et du son dans la vidéo contemporaine algérienne : une expérience en temps réel », aux éditions universitaires européennes, EUE Saarbruecken, Allemagne. Elle poursuit ses recherches en Doctorat Esthétique des arts plastiques à l’Université Paris 8.
À partir de 2005, sa participation aux ateliers des photographes Thomas Hartwell et Andréas Rost lui offre la possibilité d’expérimenter la photographie. C’est en 2006, qu’elle réalise son premier court métrage Prends le bus et regarde dans le cadre du projet Bledi in progress produit par Katia Kameli, diffusé à la Filmothèque Zinet (Alger) puis en France et à l’étranger, au Marché du court métrage (Clermont-Ferrand), Cinemed (Montpellier), Cinéma Lux (Caen), Panorama des Cinémas du Maghreb (Saint Denis), Kinokho (Paris), Gare Saint Sauveur (Lille), Palazzo Leonardo (Turin). En 2012, elle réalise six actions performatives dans l’espace urbain à Alger, intitulées Prends ta place pour le webdocumentaire Un été à Alger produit par narrative et une chambre à soi. Ses vidéos et photographies questionnent les notions de langage du corps et sa projection en espace urbain, rural et fictionnel. Son travail d’artiste a été exposé en Biennale Dakar (Sénégal), Biennale Lagos (Nigéria); Biennale Yakoutsk BY14 (Russie), Biennale des jeunes créateurs d’Europe et de Méditerranée à Bari (Italie), Biennale d’art contemporain à Pontevedra (Espagne), Biennale Internationale de Design de Saint-étienne (France).
Elle a assuré le commissariat de l’exposition d’art vidéo Le Corps Manquant invitant des artistes français et algériens à l’Institut Français d’Alger en 2014; elle a rassemblé des artistes femmes algériennes lors d’une programmation de leurs films et vidéos à l’Espace Khiasma, Les Lilas, 2013, abordant ainsi le thème Corps et (des)accords : l’esthétique vidéo des artistes algériennes (1995-2013) issu de ses recherches universitaires; elle a rendu possible l’exposition d’art contemporain La scène algérienne à l’Hospice Saint Charles, Rosny-sur-Seine, 2013 ; programmatrice du film Tahya Ya Didou pour Illégal cinéma #113 aux Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, 2013 ; co-commissaire de l’exposition d’art vidéo Video killed the radio star à la Galerie e.Bannwarth, Paris, 2012.

Amina Zoubir lives and works between Paris (France) and Algiers (Algeria). She is a visual artist, director and curator of video art. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Theory and Practice of Contemporary Art and New Media in 2009 from Paris 8 University and a Diploma of Artistic Graduate Studies (DESA) in Graphic Design obtained in 2006 at the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts of Algiers. In 2010, she published her academic research unveiling the video art of Algerian artists in a book titled « Relation of the image and sound in contemporary Algerian video: a real-time experience », published by European Academic Publishers, EUE Saarbruecken, Germany. She is pursuing her PhD in aesthetics at the Paris 8 University.
From 2005, his participation in the workshops of photographers Thomas Hartwell and Andreas Rost offers her the opportunity to experiment photography. In 2006, she directed a first short film titled Take the bus and look in the framework of the project Bledi in progress produced by Katia Kameli, broadcasted at the Zinet Film Library (Algiers) then in France and abroad, at Short film market (Clermont-Ferrand), Cinemed (Montpellier), Cinema Lux (Caen), Panorama of Maghreb cinemas (Saint Denis), Kinokho (Paris), Saint Sauveur station (Lille), Palazzo Leonardo (Turin). Her videos and photographs question the notions of body language and its projection into urban, rural and fictional space. Her work as an artist has been exhibited at Biennale Dakar (Senegal), Biennale Lagos (Nigeria); Biennale Yakoutsk BY14 (Russia), Biennial of young creators of Europe and the Mediterranean in Bari (Italy), Biennale of contemporary art in Pontevedra (Spain), International Design Biennale of Saint-Etienne (France).

She has curated the video art exhibition Le Corps Manquant inviting French and Algerian artists to the French Institute of Algiers in 2014; she gathered Algerian women artists during a program of their films and videos at the Espace Khiasma, Les Lilas, 2013, thus addressing the theme Corps and (dis)agreements: the video aesthetics of Algerian women artists (1995-2013) from her academic research; she made possible the exhibition of contemporary art The Algerian scene at Saint Charles Hospice, Rosny-sur-Seine, 2013; programmer of the film Tahya Ya Didou for Illegal Cinema # 113 at Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, 2013; co-curator of the video art exhibition Video killed the radio star at the e.Bannwarth Gallery, Paris, 2012.
