Kamel Hamadi

Kamel Hamadi de son vrai nom Larbi Zeggane (en Arabe : كامل حمادي, en Amazigh: ⵍⵄⴻⵔⴱⵉ ⵥⴻⴳⴳⴰⵏ), né le 22 décembre 1936 à Aït Daoud, Wilaya de Tizi Ouzou, en Algérie, est un auteur-compositeur-interprète en kabyle et en arabe algérien. Au cours de sa carrière, il aura signé en tout 2000 titres. Il est l’époux de la chanteuse Noura.



Kamel Hamadi suit sa scolarité jusqu’à l'obtention son certificat d’études primaires en 1950. Il devient ensuite tailleur, comme son père Saïd Zeggane, dès l’âge de 14 ans, pendant trois ans, chez son oncle domicilié près d'Oran. En 1953, il s’installe à Alger, chez un autre oncle, et c’est là qu’il montre ses talents d’écriture pour la première fois en au chanteur Arab Ouzellag. Celui-ci l’encourage dans cette voie, puis grâce à Saïd Rezoug qui lui ouvre les portes de la radio un an plus tard. Il présentera avec lui l’émission Lesrar N Ddunit (les Secrets de la Vie) consacrée à la découverte de jeunes talents. C’est au cours d’un numéro de cette émission qu’il rencontre en 1957  Mohamed Hadj El Anka, qui lui demande de lui écrire une chanson parlant de la relation père-fils, après l'avoir écouté en train de déclamer un de ses poèmes; il lui écrira alors A mmi εzizen (Cher fils), interprétée plus tard par le maître du Chaâbi.



Le jeune Larbi décide alors de se consacrer uniquement à la chanson. Il choisira son nom de scène à partir de deux noms de vedettes égyptiennes qu'il affectionne : Imad Hamadi et Kamel Chenaoui, c’est ainsi que né la carrière artistique de Kamel Hamadi.



Vers 1958, ayant eu ses premiers succès à la radio, Kamel Hamadi sort ses premières chansons à l’âge de 21 ans, chez Tepaz, parmi lesquelles : Yid-m Yid-m (Rien qu'avec toi), qui rencontrera un grand succès.



Le 25 février 1960, il épouse la chanteuse Noura, pour qui il composera une grande partie de son répertoire en arabe et en kabyle. Noura s’était déjà fait connaître avec des titres tels que Ya ma goulili de Mahboub Bati, les premières compositions que son mari signe étant Ya welfi âlech del djfa et Ya ouled el houma(enfants du quartier). Ils chanteront également en duo, en kabyle, des titres restés populaires comme Ruḥ Rebbi Ad Isahel (Vas en paix !), Anwa I S-Yennan (Qui aurait dit).



De retour en Algérie, pendant les années 1960 et 70, il renoue avec la radio algérienne d’expression kabyle chaîne II et accompagne plusieurs jeunes chanteurs kabyles de l'époque, leur composant des chansons dans des styles différents, parmi lesquels Aït Menguellet, Atmani, Slimani, Salah Saadaoui, Mouloud Habib et Aït Meslayene. Ce qu’il continuera à faire avec d’autres chanteurs d’une nouvelle génération comme Karima. En kabyle, il collaborera avec, Hnifa, Abdelkader Chaou, Boudjemaâ El Ankis, Djamel Allam, entre autres. En langue arabe, parmi les chanteurs pour lesquels Kamel Hamadi a écrit ou composé, on peut citer : Noura, Fadhéla Dziria, Khaled, Cheb Mami, El Houari, Djahida, Malika Medah, Zoulikha, Khadidja El Annabia, Dhekra Mohamed, Ismaïl Ahmed.



En juillet 2009, il est décoré à Paris de la Croix de la Légion d'honneur, médaille qui lui est remise par l'ancien ministre français de la Culture Jacques Toubon, en reconnaissance de son grand apport à la culture en tant qu’auteur ou compositeur de 2 000 œuvres. En 2010, le réalisateur Abderrazak Larbi-Chérif lui a consacré un documentaire portrait (Kamel Hamadi Ger Yenzizen, 2010, 63 minutes).

Kamel Hamadi followed his schooling until obtaining his primary school certificate in 1950. He then became a tailor, like his father Saïd Zeggane, from the age of 14, for three years, with his uncle living near Oran. In 1953, he moved to Algiers, with another uncle, and it was there that he showed his writing talents for the first time to the singer Arab Ouzellag. He encouraged him in this direction, then thanks to Saïd Rezoug who opened the doors of radio to him a year later. With him, he will present the show Lesrar N Ddunit (Secrets of Life) dedicated to the discovery of young talents. It was during a number on this show that he met Mohamed Hadj El Anka in 1957, who asked him to write him a song talking about the father-son relationship, after having listened to him declaiming one of his poems; he then wrote to him A mmi εzizen (Dear son), later performed by the master of Chaâbi.



The young Larbi then decided to devote himself solely to singing. He will choose his stage name from two names of Egyptian stars that he likes: Imad Hamadi and Kamel Chenaoui, this is how Kamel Hamadi's artistic career was born.



Around 1958, having had his first successes on the radio, Kamel Hamadi released his first songs at the age of 21, with Tepaz, among which: Yid-m Yid-m (Just with you), which will meet a great success.



On February 25, 1960, he married the singer Noura, for whom he composed a large part of his repertoire in Arabic and Kabyle. Noura had already made herself known with titles such as Ya ma goulili by Mahboub Bati, the first compositions that her husband signed being Ya Welfi Âlech Del Djfa and Ya Ouled El Houma (Children of the neighborhood). They will also sing as a duo, in Kabyle, titles that have remained popular like Ruḥ Rebbi Ad Isahel (Go in peace!), Anwa I S-Yennan (Who would have said).



Back in Algeria, during the 1960s and 70s, he reconnected with the Algerian Kabyle radio Channel 2 and accompanied several young Kabyle singers of the time, composing songs for them in different styles, including Aït Menguellet, Atmani , Slimani, Salah Saadaoui, Mouloud Habib and Aït Meslayene.
