Ramadan Salim

Ramadan Salim est né en 1953 à Azizia (Libye). Il est écrivain, journaliste et critique littéraire et de cinéma. Il a commencé à écrire en 1979 sur la littérature libyenne et n’a jamais cessé depuis. Il dirige aussi The International Mediterranean Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films (sous le parrainage du ministère libyen de la Culture), prévu du 11 au 18 juin 2012 à Tripoli (cf appel à propositions [à lire ici]). Son travail porte sur la culture arabe en général, et sur la littérature et le cinéma maghrébins en particulier. Il a publié les romans Journey and Discover (1997), Critical Dimension (2000), et des essais sur le cinéma : The individual man in the circle of adventure (1981) et Cinema. The horizon and the reality (1982). Il est le rédacteur en chef du mensuel artistique Rainbow, journaliste au quotidien February mais aussi bloggeur et auteur de critiques dans différents journaux et magazines libyens.

Ramadan Salim was born in 1953 in Azizia, Libya. He is writer, journalist, and film critic, who began writing in 1979 about Libyan literature and never stopped since.
Ramadan Salim is also the director of International Mediterranean Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films (under the auspices of the Libyan Ministry of Culture).

His work focuses on Arabic culture in general, and on Magreb literature and cinema in particular. His works include the novels Journey and Discover (1997), Critical Dimension (2000), and the non-fiction books on cinema named The individual man in the circle of adventure (1981) and Cinema. The horizon and the reality (1982).
He is the chief editor of the monthly arts magazine Rainbow, a journalist at the daily newspaper February and a blogger, a film critic and reviewer for various Libyan newspapers and magazines.
