La peinture de Koko Komégné est essentiellement humaniste : tout ce qu’il peint et sculpte est au service de l’homme, de sa libéralisation.

Il a attendu dix ans avant d’être reconnu en tant qu’artiste peintre.
Il réalise sa première exposition dans un restaurant du quartier de Bali. En 1979, il fonde avec d’autres artistes le Cercle MADUTA. Cette association d’artistes peintres a permis d’organiser une vingtaine d’expositions en sensibilisant les centres culturels camerounais, français et américains. Il n’hésite pas à mélanger le cubisme, le surréalisme, le tachisme en y ajoutant une note d’africanité afin de créer son propre style, « la diversion optique ». Ce concept est un ensemble de valeurs spirituelles, morales, artistiques et culturelles du monde noir.Sa peinture iconoclaste a longtemps été boudée. Son ?uvre et sa personnalité ont cependant joué un rôle crucial dans la reconnaissance des arts plastiques au Cameroun.

A l’occasion du SUD (Salon Urbain de Douala) 2007, il a implanté une oeuvre d’art dans la ville de Douala, Nje Mo Ye, dans son quartier d’enfance Nkololun.

Koko Komégné’style is primarily humanistic: it paints and it carves for man, for his liberalisation.
He has been waiting ten years before being recognized as a painter.He realised his first exposure in a restaurant of the district of Bali. In 1979, he melts with other artists the MADUTA Circle. This association of painters made it possible to organize twenty exhibitions sensitizing the Cameronian, French and American culturals centres. He doesn’t hesitate to mix the cubism, surrealism, tachism by adding a note of africanity to it in order to create his own style, « the optical diversion ». This concept is a whole of spiritual, morals, artistic and cultural values of the black world.His painting iconoclast has been sulky for a long time. His works and his personnality however played a crucial part in the recognition of the visual arts in Cameroun.
