Eddy Grant

Eddy Grant, né Edmond Montague Grant le 5 mars 1948 à Plaisance au Guyana est un chanteur de reggae anglais.
Né en Guyana, le jeune Eddy Grant et ses parents s’installèrent à Londres en Angleterre, plus précisément dans le quartier de Kentish Town.

Auteur, compositeur et guitariste du groupe The Equals, Eddy Grant connaît son premier succès avec le titre « Baby Come Back ». Cette chanson resta longtemps en tête des ventes de singles en Angleterre. Suite à un problème pulmonaire et une infection cardiaque, Eddy Grant quitta l’Angleterre pour la Guyana afin de se reposer (…)

Since « Black Skin, Blue Eyed Boys » through « Living on the Frontline », Eddy Grant has been recognised as a vociferous promoter, through socio-political commentary, of the culture and achievements of contemporary black people. Eddy’s meticulous method of recording is to a great degree responsible for his reputation – he has played every single instrument, sung every vocal part and produced every track on all of his solo albums – a time consuming and little known fact, which only a man of his committed vision could so painstakingly ensue.
