Farid Lakkimi

Lakkimi Farid est né au Maroc dans la région de Fès en 1978. Dès son plus jeune âge, il scrute les petits et grands écrans à la découverte des films. Passionné, son choix est fait il fera du cinéma. Il fait ses études en France et obtient sa licence en Arts du spectacle à l’Université Lumière Lyon 2 puis son Master spécialisé en écriture cinématographique à l’Université Libre de Bruxelles. Ses premiers court-métrages ont été réalisés pendant son parcours universitaire, il s’essaye à divers genres afin d’apprivoiser le monde des images et celui de l’écriture. En effet, il écrit ses scénarios et construit un univers qui lui est propre. En 2009, le Centre Cinématographique Marocain lui octroie sa carte de réalisateur et ouvre en 2010 sa boîte de production sur Tanger. Il obtient cette même année le Fonds d’Aide du Centre Cinématographique Marocain pour son premier court-métrage en pellicule intitulé « Le Cordon ». En Avril 2013 il reçoit de nouveau le Fonds d’Aide du Centre Cinématographique Marocain pour réaliser cette fois-ci son premier long-métrage « Cœur Noyé » écrit par Dorothée Landelle.

Lakkimi Farid was born in Morocco, in the region of Fès, in 1978. At a young age he was already fascinated by films. This passion will eventually lead him to study and work in Film making. Farid studied in France first getting a bachelor degree in Arts at the University Lumière Lyon 2, then a Master degree in Film school specializing in screenplay writing at the University Libre in Brussels (Belgium). He directed his first short Film while in school. He experienced different genres, trying to master both the world of photography and script writing. Farid writes his own screenplays which gives him the opportunity to totally express his creativity. In 2009 the Moroccan Center for Cinematography welcomes him as a member as upcoming Film Director. In 2010 he opens his own Film production company in Tangier. The same year the Center funds his first short Film called “Le Cordon”. In April 2013 he is the recipient of funds from the Moroccan Center for Cinematography to make his first full length feature film: “Coeur Noyé” written by Dorothée Landelle.
