Fernando Anuang’a

Debuted his career in 1990, former of Rarewatts. He worked in many occasions with African Heritage in Kenya and abroad. He took many routes where dance could take him (In Africa, Europe and Asia). Autodidact and atypical he was inspired by Maasai traditional Dance and voices.

In France he found opportunity to present his solos pieces at the National dance Center of Angelin PRELJOCAJ and Carolyn CARLSON.

His recent show “Traditional Future” was created at studio AKILI of Wayne MacGregor (in LAMU) and was produced by fashion designer Pierre CARDIN; this show was staged at Musée du Quai Branly in Paris and Espace Cardin, in 2011.

In this recent creation Anuang’a express the evolution of gestures and more liberal (free) energy, which is his way to make tradition live with time. (He wants the traditional dance to be part of the evolution of Life).



2008: dance creation residence and show performance “A Journey into the Future” at Pavillon Noir – Aix en Provence.

2011: Presentation of “A Journey into the Future” at centre national of dance – Carolyn CARLSON in Roubaix and at Festival June Events- “Atelier de Paris”.

-Presentation of the new dance creation “Traditional Future” at Musée du Quai Branly – Theatre Lévi Strauss – Paris.

– Guest dancer in last show of Georges Momboye “Empreintes Massai”

2012 : Presentation of Voices & Feelings at Festival Oriente Occidente in Italy.

2013 : Presentation of “Traditional Future” at Solomeo, Theatre Cucinelli in Italy.
