Thandiwe MURIU est photographe.

Thandiwe Muriu a Kenyan born and based photographer who picked up her first camera at 14yrs old and was hooked onto photography from that point on. After years of experimenting with shooting nature, people, landscapes and wildlife, she found my true calling in beauty photography. She specializes in Editorial/Fashion photography and Commercial photography.



Beautiful imagery has always had her attention and she enjoys exploring colour, motion and contrast with my contemporary African photography. Her photographic style is primarily characterized by dramatic lighting. Much of her creativity is drawn from a personal challenge to turn everyday items into unique photography props.



She is currently using a Nikon D7000 and Alien Bee strobes. 95% of my work is shot with a 50mm 1.8 Nikkor lens. She uses various light modifiers on her strobes like beauty dishes and soft-boxes.
