Koen CLAERHOUT est un producteur, manager et consultant en arts. Il a un Master de l’Université des Arts de Berlin (Berlin University of the Arts) en Etudes muséales et exposition (Art in Context). Il a poursuivi avec une formation en production de cinéma à la Filmhaus Babelsberg.

Koen CLAERHOUT is a producer, art manager and consultant. He holds a Master from the Berlin University of the Arts in Museum and Exhibition Studies (Art in Context) and pursued advanced training as a film producer at Filmhaus Babelsberg.
Together with the curator Hila Peleg he developed and ran the Berlin Documentary Forum at Haus der Kulturen der Welt from 2009 to 2014. As a research and project manager he developed and produced art projects with curators, directors and thinkers such as Okwui Enwezor, Catherine David, Sylvère Lotringer and Harun Farocki. Furthermore, Koen was an advisor to the founding of the film centre Cimatheque in Cairo.
Prior to these engagements, Koen was project manager and assistant curator of the Brussels Biennial 2008. Acting as a key coordinator to this Biennial, he managed collaborations with eight international museums and institutions, hundred artists, and ten curators. Between 2004 and 2007, he worked as curatorial assistant and producer at the theaters Beurschouwburg in Brussels and Hebbel am Ufer/HAU in Berlin.
