Olivier COUSSEMACQ a travaillé comme assistant réalisateur avant de signer des magazines télévisés et des courts métrages.
Son premier long métrage, L’ENFANCE DU MAL (SWEET EVIL), est sorti en 2010.
Après avoir été longuement assistant réalisateur, et brièvement assistant monteur, il réalisa des séries télévisées, principalement pour les chaînes françaises TF1 et M6. Puis un premier film, PAROLES EN LIBERTE SURVEILLÉE, documentaire ayant pour thème les conditions d’incarcération des condamnés à de longues peines dans les prisons françaises. Ce film fut sélectionné au festival Cinéma du réel à Paris.
Trois courts-métrages suivirent : PAS PERDUS (qui valut à Jacques Penot le Prix d’Interprétation Masculine au Festival International du Film de Clermont-Ferrand), LE LARBIN, et finalement LA CONCIERGE EST DANS L’ASCENSEUR, une comédie avec Omar Sy, Catherine Jacob et Michel Vuillermoz, qui fut diffusée de nombreuses fois en télévision.
Il écrivit ensuite le thriller TRAQUEE, réalisé par Steve Suissa, puis se consacra davantage à l’écriture.
Son scénario LE DESERT DE LA MEMOIRE reçut une Mention Spéciale du Jury au Grand Prix du Meilleur Scénario (Sopadin). Il fut également sélectionné par Emergence, l’Université Internationale d’Eté du Cinéma, pour son scénario CORPS ETRANGERS.
En 2009, il réalisa L’ENFANCE DU MAL (SWEET EVIL), premier long-métrage qui marqua le début de sa collaboration avec Nicolas Brevière et Local Films, et permit à la jeune Anaïs Demoustier de remporter le Prix d’Interprétation Féminine au Festival International du Film de Karlovy Vary. LAISSE-MOI PARTIR (NOMADES, 2018) est son second long-métrage. Deux autres sont actuellement en développement : LA BEAUTE DU GESTE, lauréat de l’Association Beaumarchais, chez Good Fortune Films et Urban Factory, avec le soutien de Eave et Pictanovo ; LE COMBAT, chez Local Films.

Olivier COUSSEMACQ was an assistant director for 12 years, for both television and film. He worked briefly as an assistant film editor. He directed television series, mostly for the French channels TF1 and M6. His first film, PAROLES EN LIBERTE SURVEILLÉE, was a documentary about the living conditions of convicts serving long-term sentences in French prisons. This film was selected at the Cinéma du réel festival in Paris.
