Sarah GAVRON est une réalisatrice britannique, née le 20 avril 1970.
Pendant ses études à la National Film and Television School (NFTS) en Angleterre et après l’obtention de son diplôme, la cinéaste a réalisé de nombreux courts métrages présentés à l’international et lauréats de multiples prix.
Elle a été sacrée Meilleure jeune réalisatrice aux TV BAFTA Awards et Révélation de l’année aux Royal Television Society Awards et aux Women in Film and TV Awards pour This Little Life, le téléfilm de BBC TV lauréat du Dennis Potter Award. Elle a en outre été sélectionnée par le magazine Variety parmi les 10 réalisateurs du Festival du film de Sundance à suivre.
Sarah Gavron a entamé sa carrière au cinéma avec Rendez-vous à Brick Lane, film qui lui a valu une nomination aux BAFTA Awards et aux BIFA Awards, ainsi que l’Alfred Dunhill Talent Award au Festival du film de Londres. Son long métrage documentaire intitulé The Village at the End of the World a été cité au Grierson Award et a remporté le prestigieux Margaret Mead Award.
