Jahëna Louisin

Diplômée d un Master en Relations Internationales et Sciences Politiques, Jahëna Louisin est une journaliste reporter d images pour le compte des boites de production locales et de télévisions internationales ; Installée depuis son enfance au Togo, elle est habituée à immortaliser des histoires de vie derrière sa caméra en s inspirant de ce quotidien, parfois tendre, parfois dur, pour imaginer des trajectoires humaines aux retentissements universels. MOT DE LA REALISATRICE « Ce que moi j ai trouvé fantastique au-delà de la possibilité de réaliser son film ou pas, c était le fait de pouvoir travailler avec d autres femmes, ce qui est assez rare dans le milieu. Et moi personnellement je l ai vraiment vécu parce que j ai eu la chance d avoir été désignée gagnante et j ai pu voir vraiment cette énergie, cette synergie de femmes autour du film () Pour la plupart dans l atelier on avait toutes un background dans l audiovisuel, mais c est vrai que cette formation nous a énormément apportée en termes d écriture, scénarisation, réalisation et production. Et ça nous a prouvé qu on avait vraiment besoin de cet espace-là, de ces formateurs pour mieux nous guider, mettre un peu plus de sens sur nos différentes routes. Donc pour moi cette formation comme toutes les filles a vraiment été très bénéfique. Ce qui nous a permis de mieux comprendre certaines spécificités du métier. A travers mon film, vous verrez que d autres formations sont nécessaires sur le continent parce qu il y a énormément non seulement des femmes cinéastes mais aussi des personnes d autres domaines qui sont très intéressées par le cinéma et qui ont toutes les compétences pour réussir »

Jahëna Louisin holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Political Science and is a photojournalist working for local production companies and international television channels. She has lived in Togo since childhood and is used to immortalising life stories behind her camera, taking inspiration from the daily life, sometimes tender, sometimes hard, to imagine human trajectories with universal repercussions. WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR « What I found fantastic beyond the possibility of making her film or not, was the fact that I could work with other women, which is quite rare in the field. And I personally really experienced it because I was lucky enough to have been designated winner and I was able to really see this energy, this synergy of women around the film () Most of us in the workshop all had a background in the audiovisual field, but it is true that this training brought us a lot in terms of writing, scriptwriting, directing and production. And it proved to us that we really needed this space, these trainers to better guide us, to make a little more sense of our different paths. So for me this training, like all the girls, was really beneficial. It allowed us to better understand certain specificities of the profession. Through my film, you will see that other training courses are necessary on the continent because there are many not only women filmmakers but also people from other fields who are very interested in cinema and who have all the skills to succeed.
