Selin Melek MURAT (She/Her) is a Film producer and Film Expert.
Elle est la Manager des Marchés du festival IDFA (Amsterdam).
En tant que cofondatrice des films canadiens Parabola, Selin Murat a commencé sa carrière comme productrice de cinéma. Pendant plus d’une décennie, elle a produit des documentaires d’auteur qui ont trouvé leur place dans les festivals, les salles et la télévision. Elle est devenue un membre actif du paysage documentaire canadien.
Dans le monde des festivals de films et des événements professionnels, Selin est devenue programmatrice de films et directrice de RIDM Industry, où elle a réussi à établir des relations solides avec les festivals et les marchés européens. Dans ce rôle, elle a co-créé le If! Doc Lab à Istanbul (2016-2018) et a dirigé des ateliers de coproduction à CPH:DOX, Sunny Side of the Doc, Hot Docs, et le Marché du film de Cannes Docs in Progress. Selin travaille comme consultant pour plusieurs marchés internationaux du film, y compris EFM-Berlinale, est un membre fondateur de l’Association du documentaire d’Europe et consultante pour les cinéastes indépendants du monde entier.
En septembre 2021, IDFA (plus grand festival de cinéma documentaire) a accueilli Selin Murat comme sa nouvelle Markets Manager.

Selin Melek MURAT (She/Her) is a Film producer and Film Expert.
She is the Markets Manager, at IDFA (Amsterdam).
As co-founder of Canadian based Parabola films, Selin Murat started her career as a creative producer. For over a decade she produced author-driven documentaries that found their way to festivals, theatre and broadcast and became a solid member of the Canadian documentary landscape. Moving on to the world of Film Festivals and Industry events, Selin became film programmer and head of RIDM Industry, where she managed to create strong relationships with European festivals and markets. In this role she co-created the If! Doc Lab in Istanbul (2016-2018) and has lead co-production workshops at CPH:DOX, Sunny Side of the Doc, Hot Docs, and the Marché du film de Cannes Docs in Progress. Selin works as a consultant for several international film markets including EFM-Berlinale, is a founding member of the Documentary Association of Europe and consults for independent filmmakers all over the world.
Selin Murat was a creative producer for over a decade at the company she co-founded, Parabola Films, where she released a dozen author-driven documentaries at festivals, in theatres and for broadcast. Now based mainly in Istanbul, Selin specializes in professional development initiatives for documentary filmmakers with a focus on coproductions with Canada, sits on numerous documentary film juries every year, and programs documentaries for the RIDM. Selin co-created the If! Doc Lab in Istanbul (2016-2018) and leads co-production workshops at CPH:DOX, Sunny Side of the Doc, Hot Docs, and the Marché du film de Cannes Docs in Progress as Director of Programming of the RIDM Forum. Selin works as a consultant for several international film markets including EFM-Berlinale, is a founding member of the Documentary Association of Europe and consults for independent filmmakers all over the world.
