Abdelmadjid Meskoud (en arabe : عبدالمجيد مسكود) est un chanteur algérien né le 31 mars 1953 dans le quartier d’El Hamma à Belcourt (aujourd’hui Belouizdad) à Alger, en Algérie. Artiste autodidacte, on lui reconnaît une maîtrise de l'art de la musique chaâbi (Genre musical algérien, né à Alger au début du XXᵉ siècle, dérivé de la musique arabo-andalouse d'Alger. "Chaâbi" signifie "populaire" en arabe, c'est l'un des genres musicaux les plus populaires d'Algérie.
Abdelmadjid Meskoud qui n'a jamais fait d’école de musique, commence en 1969 à gratter sa première guitare tout en s'exerçant à la comédie d’abord dans la troupe Mohamed Touri de la place du 1er-Mai que dirigeait Mohamed Tahar Benhamla ensuite dans la Troupe du Théâtre Populaire (TTP) qu’animait Hassan El-Hassani.
Meskoud passe deux ans à Béchar – service militaire oblige – ce qui lui permet de chanter juste et maîtriser la frappe. Il reste un chanteur de quartier même si grâce à l'amitié et à la complicité de Mohamed Er-lkachid, un féru d'histoire musicale, il arrive à passer à la télévision. Il fait ses classes lors des célébrations de mariages jusqu'au jour où la belle chanson El-Assima le révèle au grand public, en 1989. Ce texte personnel qu'il a toutefois commencé à chanter depuis 1987 dans les fêtes est un beau texte, intense, vrai et plein de nostalgie. À l'origine de ce petit chef-d'œuvre, la destruction pour rénovation, du vieux quartier d'El Hamma où il est né, très affecté par la destruction de la maison où il grandit. Après, le poème a pris progressivement de l'ampleur pour donner Ya Dzaïr ya El Assima. Tout au long de sa carrière il alternera musique, théâtre et apparaitra dans le casting plusieurs téléfilms.
Abdelmadjid Meskoud, qui écoute les maitres du chaâbi Cheikh El Hasnaoui et Hadj El Anka notamment, mais aussi Jacques Brel, Édith Piaf, Georges Brassens et Léo Ferré, a introduit un renouveau dans la chanson chaâbi des années 1990 supplanté alors par le Raï auprès des couches populaires. En 1984, il compose un on orchestre avec Krimo Ben Allaoua, Hakim Ben El-Djouzi, Zouhir Djemaî (violon), Redouane Ben El-Djouzi (guitare), Ahmed Berrour (derbouka) et Abdelkader Dali (târ).
En 2012, Abdelmadjid Meskoud comptait également parmi les contributeurs au succès de l’orchestre El Gusto, des concerts et du film du même nom.

Abdelmadjid Meskoud (Arabic: عبدالمجيد مسكود) is an Algerian singer born on March 31, 1953 in the El Hamma district of Belcourt (today Belouizdad) in Algiers, Algeria. A self-taught artist, he is credited with mastering the art of chaâbi music (Algerian musical genre, born in Algiers at the beginning of the 20th century, derived from Arab-Andalusian music from Algiers. Abdelmadjid Meskoud, who never went to music school, began in 1969 to strum his first guitar while practicing comedy, first in the Mohamed Touri troupe on the Place du 1er-Mai which was directed by Mohamed Tahar Benhamla then in the Popular Theater Troupe (TTP) led by Hassan El-Hassani.
Meskoud spent two years in Béchar – military service required – which allowed him to sing in tune and master the strokes. He remains a local singer even if thanks to the friendship and complicity of Mohamed Er-lkachid, a musical history buff, he manages to appear on television. He learned his lessons during wedding celebrations until the day when the beautiful song El-Assima revealed him to the general public, in 1989. This personal text which he however began to sing since 1987 at festivals is a beautiful text, intense, true and full of nostalgia. At the origin of this little masterpiece, the destruction for renovation, of the old district of El Hamma where he was born, very affected by the destruction of the house where he grew up. Afterwards, the poem gradually gained momentum to give Ya Dzaïr ya El Assima. Throughout his career he alternated between music and theater and appeared in the casting of several TV films.
