Né en 1969 à Berlin (Allemagne).

Daniel Taye WORKOU est diplômé en Relations Internationales, il travaille pour plusieurs ONG, avant de faire des études de cinéma à la Columbia University, à New-York. Il réalise des documentaires musicaux et des captations de concerts. Il est le co-fondateur de BiraBiro Films en Éthiopie. MENGED est son premier court métrage de fiction. Il a été tourné dans le village de son grand-père. Menged a été présenté et primé dans de nombreux festivals internationaux, dont Cinémas d’Afrique – Angers 2007.

Daniel Taye Workou, born 1969 in Berlin of Ethiopian origin. He graduates in International Relations and works for several NGO’s before entering the Graduate Film Program at Columbia University, New York. He goes on to shoot music documentaries, videos and concert films. He is cofounder of BiraBiro Films, Ethiopia. Menged his first fiction short has been shot in and around his grandfather’s village in Ethiopia.
