The Dundas was founded in 1930 with the goal: "To encourage and assist in the development of all forms of cultural activity in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and to permit the production and private or public presentations of theatrical plays, motion pictures, dramas, musical comedies, farce comedies, operas, operettas, ballets."
