LA SOCIETE
AGAT FILMS & Cie et EX NIHILO constituent un collectif de six producteurs associés soudés par un certain nombre de valeurs, tout en privilégiant le point de vue et la sensibilité de chacun. Ce respect des différences est au cœur d’une culture d’entreprise qui s’efforce de préserver une sorte d’équilibre entre un principe de plaisir (le désir de chacun) et un principe de réalité (la bonne marche de l’entreprise).

Cette disposition fondamentale a permis de mettre en oeuvre une politique de production associant des auteurs aux esthétiques extrêmement variées voire opposées.

Cette culture de la diversité est étroitement liée au besoin de produire dans les genres les plus variés : documentaires de création, émissions scientifiques, films d’animation, soirées thématiques, spectacle vivant, films cinéma, etc.

DOCUMENTATION ET PRESSE
Cette tension, ce va et vient entre le documentaire et la fiction est vécue par le collectif comme l’un des moyens d’approfondir le rapport à notre époque, de participer à sa compréhension et à son questionnement. C’est aussi la condition nécessaire pour entretenir un esprit d’indépendance et de création, opposé à tout formatage ou normalisation des œuvres.
Le refus de séparer et de hiérarchiser les genres a autorisé les rencontres les plus inattendues, le passage d’un domaine à un autre pour les auteurs et les réalisateurs et la confrontation tendue entre ce qui relève du réel et ce qui appartient à l’imaginaire.

THE COMPANY
AGAT FILMS & Cie and EX NIHILO form a collective of six producers, brought together by a number of common values with the desire to allow each one to express an individual point of view and sensitivity. This mutual respect lies at the heart of a company culture that strives to maintain the balance between pleasure (each producer’s desire) and reality (the smooth running of the company).
This basic system has allowed us to launch a production policy going from the search for writers to that for directors with opposing artistic and aesthetic concerns.

This culture of diversity is closely linked to the need to produce in highly varied genres: original documentaries, science programming, animated films, theme evenings, live performances, big-screen productions, etc.


PRESS REVIEW EXTRACTS
This tension and continual movement between documentary and fiction is experienced by the collective as one of the ways of deepening the relationship to our times, to participate in understanding and questioning them. It’s also a necessary condition to maintain a spirit of independence and creation opposed to any formatting or standardization of the works produced.
The refusal to separate and prioritize genres has led to highly unexpected encounters, allowing writers and directors to pass from one field to another, and the meaningful confrontation between the real world and that of the imagination.
