GrafoLab started its activities in 2015 as an investment initiative in a project portfolio of Grafo. It brings together several creators from Paraná and Santa Catarina in the development of feature film projects and serials.
Grafo has made the films: Deserto Particular (BNL People’s Choice Award at the Giornate degli Autori in Venice and Brazil’s nominee for Best International Feature at the Oscars), Rust (Sundance – US, Best Picture at Festival de Gramado), To my beloved (7 awards at Brasília Film Festival, Silver Zenith at Festival du Nouveau Cinéma – Canada, San Sebastian – Spain), Jesus Kid (3 awards at Gramado), Circular (Festival do Rio), C(us)todians (ONU Award at Dos Leipzig – Germany), Arid Zone (Honorable Mention at Doc Leipzig – Germany), Remains of a Man (Helena Ignez Award – Mostra de Tiradentes), Quadrangle (Cannes – France), The Parking Lot (Best Short Film – Festival do Rio), The Factory (Oscars’ Shortlist, Honorable Mention at Clermont-Ferrand – France), Only Yesterday (Clermont-Ferrand – France), Tarantula (Venice – Italy).
Produced Portugal-Brazil-Mozambique co-production « Granma Nineteen and the Soviet’s Secret » and the feature « Nothing Ever Happened » (Portugal-Belgium-Brazil).
It is currently finishing a short and two feature films and developing a children’s series. Its productions have reached 5 continents through more than 300 festivals and 200 awards with sales for more than 30 countries in America, Europe and Asia.
Annualy organize the Olhar de Cinema – Curitiba International Film Festival, created in 2012 and, today, one of the main film festivals in Latin America.
